The NRIs’ New Record….

Gabe’s other band, The NRIs just put out a new record called Kings And Birds. It is the real deal.  So you should be purchasing it with the money now. Actually, I don’t know if that is an option yet, because I got it at their cd release show. But I’m sure it will be soon enough.

Anyway, it was a real community effort. Lisa shot their photos and made them all look like super-hot J Crew sari models and also made sure Gabe wasn’t too weird-looking, Kate played some cello on the record, and her husband Jesse designed the shit out the record. It looks rad. Also, they recorded some horns in the WWP bat-cave studios.

Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie Music Festival

So, we had the privilege of playing The Sweet Tea Music Festival that our good friend Dave Mann from Mittenfields organized this weekend. Because of a mis-communication, Ben wasn’t able to play drums….and we found this out 3 days before the show. But, because Kate and Gabe are badasses, we decided to switch instruments around and play a stripped down acoustic set. Kate played the cello and Gabe shifted over to the drum kit. We would be lying if we said we were sure it was going to work…but it did! Or at least I think so.
